Been Way Too Long
I know I have been missing in action, so much has gone on in the last month.
I said goodbye to my trailer on July 5th. It made its journey up to Idaho where it will have a new life with a sweet purpose. I know I made the right decision but it still left me a little shook.
I was also busy making a new quilt for my future daughter-in-law. Back in March when she was visiting she told me "when" they have my grandbaby they want to decorate the nursery with an animal theme. I immediately thought of a pattern by Elizabeth Hartman, the cute baby quilt with the baby animals. I got on the computer to show her and she saw the quilt Legendary and said, Oh I love that quilt and it's perfect for the Pacific Northwest, which is where they live.
Her bridal shower was going to be in July and she asked for no gifts so of course, I knew what I had to do. So I got busy working on my secret project.
It was a very fun quilt to make, I used Lori Holt's Shabby fabric for the trees and Big Foot and Moda Grunge for the background.
I found a cute woven fabric for the backing and decided to use it for the binding as well.
Since it was going to be the first time meeting her Mom, Amy, I decided I needed to make her something as well.
Not the best pictures but I made Amy a Sew Together Bag.
Once I got all my gifts made I was able to focus on my trip.
I was so excited to see my kids! It had been since January that I saw Amanda and March since I saw Jon. To say I was excited was an understatement.
Kendall's shower was so much fun, I loved meeting her Mom and all of her friends.
It was pretty sunny so we are all squinting in this shot, but seriously Kendall and her Mom look more like sisters than mother/daughter.
Here is a beautiful shot of Amanda and Kendall, both look so beautiful.
I also got to spend some time with my sisters and their families.
Seattle was wonderful, fast, and pack with lots of activities. Can't wait until we are all together again in Hawaii in December.
