Fun Block Exchange
Have you ever participated in a block exchange?
What's a block exchange, well let me explain it to you.
I have a group of sewing friends who all like Lori Holt and her books, this year I thought it would be fun to do a block exchange with her Vintage Christmas Book.
Adorable, right? Well with 42 different blocks to choose from, we each picked a block we wanted to make. We decided to keep the colors similar to the ones Lori used. This way they will all blend nicely. I chose to make the Present block.
Since there are 7 of us in the group, I will make 7 of the 12-inch Present block.
When we are all done we will exchange our blocks, each taking one from each participant. Now I know that will make an odd size quilt so each of us will make one of our own to make it an even 8 blocks. This is the fun part, how we choose to assemble our quilts is up to us. We can choose to make more blocks or add borders, etc, you get the idea.
I can't wait to see everyone's block and how the quilts turn out. I will be sure to post the final quilts when we are all finished.
This was a great way to bring us all together during our stay at home torture, I mean during Covid.
Stay safe and sew on my friends.
