Have You Made A Quilt With Just Solids?
I know I have talked about my love of solids before but I am wondering if you have ever made a quilt using just solids?
So many fabric designers are coming out with lines of solids or solids with slight texture in them. I just recently got the new line of Ombres by V & Co. This fabric shades dark to light and back to dark.
Of course I have shared my love for Riley Blake’s Confetti Cottons. This line of solids is so easy to work with, it is so soft to the touch and has the slightest sheen to them. I’m currently working on a new kit where I have mixed prints with Confetti Cottons. Can’t wait to see the final outcome.
Have you seen Planted Seed Designs Gem Stone? Here is a collection of solids with a slight texture. They too have a slight gradation of color. Gerri designed this line with her 3 grown son’s in mind. Finally fabrics that can easily be used in a quilt for Men. There are several books and patterns out now designed just for solids. Don’t be afraid of using solids from a pattern showing only prints. Step out of that comfort zone and try something new. Fabrics shown above along with books and pattern for solids can be found in my Esty Shop. http://www.etsy.com/shop/SewBellasQuiltCart
