Life is short, buy the fabric
I've heard several quilting friends say that back in March Covid gave them the excuse to spend lots of time in their sewing rooms, myself included. I even finished a few UFOs. Then the call for mask came and I spent most of my time making mask. That quickly killed all my sewing mojo. The strange reality of what was happening around the world killed all my desire to create. I honestly had to force myself to get back into my sewing room.
This week I am getting back to what I love most, sewing with friends. Yes, we will be wearing mask and social distancing but we will be together, laughing and sharing and doing what we love. It's time to get back to living and finding our new normal.
I strongly encourage you to find a sewing group, join a guild, see if your local quilt shop has an open sew day. Being around others who share your passion will fuel your creativity and help get that sewing mojo back.
Another way to fire up those creative juices is new fabric! There are several new lines that have come out in the last few days.
Back Porch from Me and My Sister Designs is sure to cheer you up! So many fun prints in Red, Whites, and Blues.
Apricot & Ash by Corey Yoder is so darn pretty. Corals, Peach, Greens, and Grays.
Shine On by Bonnie and Camille. Here's a little secret, I have a slight obsession with Bonnie and Camille fabrics. I just love their classic colors, Navy, Red, Aqua, and Green.
Turn the news off, call a sewing buddy, and buy some new fabric!
Honey, life is short, find your happy place again.
