Loving the Process
I can't believe we are in week 6 of the Prim and Proper Sew Along.
I have been looking forward to making this week's blocks since day one. I just love them!
When I first was asked to participate in the sew-along I knew I wanted to use Lori Holt's Shabby line. Since I needed a variety of colors I ordered Fat Quarter Bundles from Fat Quarter Shop, but I also ordered a few bolts from Riley Blake. One of the colors I was excited to get was Lori's new color Shabby called Raisin. I thought it would perfect for the dark brown trim and borders. However, because of Covid, my order was delayed and I had to go with plan B. Instead of the Raisin, I went with Riley Blakes Confetti Cotton Steal, and you know what, I love it!
I just love how each component of this block went together.
I am so happy with how they turned out and I love the colors I used. Don't be intimidated to try this block, Lori's step by step instructions make this block go together with ease.
All the trimming from this block were big enough pieces that I decided to use them.
I sewed them together while piecing the rest of the blocks. I always sew using leaders and enders, makes me feel productive when those leaders lead to something else.
I will use my Tucker Trimmer to square them up to a perfect 2 1/2" block and use them as part of my backing. Waste not want not!
Now on to assembling the quilt!
Be safe and sew on!
