Setting Goals

To start my first blog post of 2020, I would like to wish you all a very Happy, Healthy, New Year and thank you all for your continued support. You are the inspirsation that keeps me going! Do you set goals? I’m not talking New Years resolutions but goals you want to accomplish for yourself? Some would say they are one in the same but for me I don’t ever seems to keep a NY’s resolutions but if I write down what I want to accomplish in the coming year and post it where I see it all the time, that’s seems to help. Last January I wrote my goals on a board and placed them next to my sewing machine, in a spot I know I will see every time I’m in my sewing room.

I feel pretty good about my goals, yes I still squirrel but I think that is my nature! I didn’t start Podcasting, it still intimates me and I didn’t add it to my list of goals this year but I hope to one day accomplish Podcast. I have some great ideas for them. So here is my 2020 list of Goals:

Meeting Eleanor Burns in October really inspired me. She asked me some great questions and seemed genuinely impressed with my unique business. She really got me thinking, I am unique and one of a kind so I really need to embrace that and start thinking differently about my business. My motto this year is Why not me! I am going to ask for more exposure for my business and ask my suppliers to support me as one of their unique customers. I may be small and not their biggest accounts but I know for sure I am their most unique! Another goal is to create a sewing event. I watch social media and I see other states doing great sewing events and I think to myself, why can’t we have that here? We have so many talented designers here in Arizona why not bring them all together and create a great sewing event for all the quilters here in Arizona. So here’s to 2020 and to things to come! Who wants to come along for the ride?
