Way Too Much Fun
Well, our first Lori Holt inspired quilt retreat is in the books!
We are so grateful for all that attended, we really had a fun group, and wow so much talent.
Our numbers were down due to Covid but it was just what we all needed, to get out, sew with friends, and have fun. Believe me, we took precautions, I sanitized everything, our tables were 6 feet apart and most of the ladies wore masks.
We had a great make and take planned, Lori's Quilty Zip Pocket. What the girls didn't know was Pam embroidered the name and year of our retreat on the center square and Lori Holt signed each square.
Such a fun and easy project, some of the girls decided to make more.
Look how cute Lisa's is, she even made it bigger for all her quilting notions.
We had several games planned, Charlene was the lucky Left Right Center winner, she walked away with 24 Lori Holt Fat Quarters.
We also had another surprise for the ladies, Lori sent some very special door prizes.
Here are our happy winners.
The ladies really inspired each other, several were working on the same blocks.
Jackie and Brenda were both making Lori's Scrappy Cross Roads blocks. Love how completely different they look.
Janyce and Jackie also decided to make Lori's Great Granny Squared Quilt.
Janyce was working with the red background and Jackie just fell in love with the way it looked, so she went with a red for her background as well.
Look how cute Pat's blocks turned out!
She really is smiling, you just can't see it behind that mask.
Charlene was busy doing handwork on her Granny's Garden Quilt, another one of Lori's beautiful applique quilts.
We also had lots of yummy food and treats, I was too busy having fun and only got a picture of one of our meals. This was lunch on Friday, our super salad bar.
Donna came all the way from Casa Grande, her husband drove their Motorhome up and parked it behind the shop. Donna stayed in the Motorhome at night so she didn't have to drive. Now we are all thinking about that for the next retreat! I wish I got a picture.
Pam and I want to thank all the ladies who attended, you were great!
We also want to thank Lori Holt for always inspiring us, signing our make and take squares, and the wonderful door prizes. I also want to thank Michelle, my Moda Rep, Deb Richards, my Riley Blake Rep, Angie our Checker Rep, and Riley Blake for providing us with wonderful gifts to fill our retreater's swag bags.
We are already planning our next retreats for 2021.
Stay safe and sew on!
