This quilt along is just flying by! This week's block was the picket fence.
I know several of you were intimated to do this one. One thing I just love about Lori's books and her projects is that they may look difficult but they really aren't. She breaks it down step by step and before you know it the block is complete!
This block was so long it was hard to get it all in the picture so I decided to just show the middle.
Have you been following the hashtag #quilterscottagesewalong on Instagram? If you have you have seen all the different fabric variations people are using, I just love them all.
A few people have reached out to me to tell me they are going to make a few changes to their quilt. I love that! My friend Charlene is a pink person, so of course, her cottage is pink, plus after it is quilted she is adding red buttons to her trees so they look like apples. My friend Dee decided to add a crow to her quilt, so instead of one of her flower blocks she added the crow from the Farm Girl Vintage 2 Book.
One of the girls in my Sew Bee It sewing group is going to make her cottage with a Halloween theme. Her trees will not have leaves, the fence will be broken, the windows will be broken, and have spider webs. She will not have flowers but crows and black cats. I love her imagination. Another one of the girls said she was putting her quilts that hang on the clothesline at the top of her quilt so it looks like they are in the backyard instead of the front.
Don't be afraid to step out of the box, make it your quilt. There are plenty of options if you look through the Farm Girl Vintage books. And be sure to post them using the hashtag so everyone can enjoy your blocks.
