Week Two and Winner Winner
Today is week 2 of the Quilters Cottage Sew Along.
I was excited to make the cottage block. Like I said in a previous post I always dreamed of living in a yellow farmhouse with a white picket fence. Living in the area of Arizona that I do, you don't see very many farmhouse much less yellow ones. So my dream lives on in my quilt.
I just love it! Once it is quilted I may have to do a little embellishing, The yellow I used for the house is Riley Blakes Confetti Cotton Sunshine. I just love the Confetti Cotton Solids, they have the softest feel to them, almost like brushed cotton and they have just the slightest sheen. I can't wait to see the colors you all use for your cottage.
Don't you love the little smoke coming out of the chimneys? Here is a trick I used when sewing on the rick rack, once I got it into the position I liked I used Elmers Glue to keep it in place, which then made it was easy to sew it down.
Don't be intimidated by the size of this block, Lori's instructions are clear and easy to follow and if your seams don't exactly line up, just say the house is old and the foundation has settled a bit. LOL
I want to thank all of you who participated in my Sew Along Giveaway, I wish I could give you all the prize.
The winner is LisaLisa_75032@yahoo.com
